Born in North Wales, I was brought up and educated on the Isle of Anglesey, leaving there to attend an Art and Design course at Bournemouth College of Art.
On finishing at Bournemouth and travelling in Europe, I settled in London to study design at The London College of Furniture enabling me to work for the architects D.E.G.W.
The dramatic landscapes of North Wales had nurtured an inherited love of colour and form which made Scotland, a sympathetic environment to continue my development as an artist.
My move to the Scottish Borders was prompted by marriage to a Borderer, and the birth of our first child. It was the early 1990’s before I returned to painting and I taught at the Borders College, facilitated ‘Big Draw’ workshops for the Borders Coldstream Museum and ran a ‘Life Drawing’ group in Whitsome, Berwickshire.
During 2015-2017 I attended The Leith School of Art Printmaking course in Edinburgh and won the ‘Stern Prize’ for printing. I continue to paint and make prints, and exhibit my work.
